A relatively new city in the area, Rancho Cucamonga formed in 1977 from three unincorporated towns: Alta Loma, Etiwanda, and Cucamonga. "Cucamonga" will be familiar with Jack Benny fans, which made the town's name part of a running gag – usually voiced by Mel Blanc (which is why you've probably also heard the name in Bugs Bunny cartoons).
Like nearby San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga has a minor league baseball team: the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, a Class "A" Advanced affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Rancho Cucamonga also has the only steel mini-mill in California, where Tamco Steel turns scrap metals into rebar that gets used in all kinds of construction applications. The Thomas Winery is the oldest winery in California, dating back to 1839. You can still sip some wines amidst the history at the corner of Foothill & Vineyard.
