Heading west from Oklahoma City, Route 66 enters Yukon. The "Czech Capital of Oklahoma", Yukon celebrates its heritage with an annual festival and regular gatherings at Czech Hall, built in 1901 and the epicenter of the Czech-American community for not only Yukon, but also all of Oklahoma.
Trivia: A polka dance has been held at Yukon Czech Hall every Saturday night since 1930.
The dominant landmark in town is Yukon's Best Flour Mill and its imposing grain elevator. Nearby, Sid's Diner offers an authentic 50's atmosphere and contributes to the Route 66 experience. And there's probably plenty of flour in their dishes.
