Your guide for Route 66 travel information, attractions, planning and hotel accommodations.

Pick a State or City to explore

Just beyond Arcadia and Pop's, Route 66 enters Edmond, a major northern suburb of Oklahoma City and home to the University of Central Oklahoma.

Edmond preserves its downtown nicely, with bronze sculptures and a variety of shops, restaurants, antique stores, and more things to do. The Edmond Historical Society & Museum offers many hands-on experiences, especially for kids. The miniature 1889 town lets kids immerse themselves in life from that era – show them that people had to make do without iPods and TV at one time.

Route 66 heads south on Broadway through a very busy stretch in Edmond before angling off on the south end of town, approaching Interstate 44 heading down Kelley Avenue on a two-lane road alignment. Although you're getting closer to downtown Oklahoma City and can see it at times, it's still a bit of a drive to get there.
