Staunton

One of the final stops on our stretch through Illinois along Route 66 is Staunton – set at the confluence of Historic Route 66 and Interstate 55 in western Illinois.

Staunton is known for a pretty iconic stop along Route 66: Henry's Ra66it Ranch – probably the only place in the world where you'll see vintage Volkswagen Rabbit next to real-life rabbits (like seriously, bunnies are just hopping around). Check out the filling station replica at Henry's Rabbit Ranch Station and Visitor's Center, and grab yourselves some souvenirs for the road.

Stop for a spell and check out local wares at the Staunton Farmer's Market at the corner of Mill Street and Union Street, or even the Route 66 Storage & Flea Market right along Old Route 66.
